At Job Junction, you'll find everything you need to find the job that's right for you. If we don't have what you're looking for, we can steer you in the right direction for more information and resources. Here's a look at the services we provide for your search. And remember, all the services at Job Junction are free.

Information

Friendly, knowledgeable staff can help you navigate your way around the centre, or help you find what you're looking for in the large selection of employment information. Our staff can assist with your computer or software questions and provide sound expertise on where to find other employment resources.


We also hold workshops that provide an in-depth look at topics of interest to job seekers. Presented by Job Junction staff, as well as experienced and qualified guests from business and government agencies, these workshops enable you to learn and ask questions in an informal, welcoming atmosphere.

Case Management Services

Case Management is a free service supporting unemployed persons in their job search. Employment related services that may be available to you include employment counselling, career decision-making, job search strategies, assessment of employment needs, and provision of labour market information.

We also provide information and assistance regarding Employment Nova Scotia programs such as Skills Development, Job Creation Partnerships, Targeted Wage Subsidies, and Self-Employment Benefits.

Resource Library

The library is full of books, articles, career exploration software, and CD ROM's on job markets and job search skills such as interviews and resumes. With information that is current, relevant and easy to read, this is one library that won't put you to sleep. Ask one of the staff to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

Job Search Resources

At Job Junction, you can take advantage of various job search tools including newspapers, online job search web sites, a job board and information on accessing the hidden job market.

Office Supplies and Equipment

Computers, Internet, Email

There are 23 computers available for use at Job Junction. You can search online job sites, research employers, create and email resumes, and access information about effective job search tools. If you have difficulty using computers, the staff at Job Junction will show you how to take advantage of the technology to perform an efficient and effective job search.

Phone and Fax

Communicating with potential employers is a key part of your job search. Job Junction provides phone service so that you are able to call employers and inquire about job opportunities and interview schedules. Access to fax machines enable you to send and receive documents like your resume or job application.

Photocopiers

You will hand out a lot of resumes in your job search. And it's important to fine-tune your resume to highlight different skills and experience for different jobs. Job Junction provides free photocopiers to make this process faster and more convenient.

Meeting Rooms

In some cases, employers may not be able to meet with you in their own facilities. Job Junction is happy to provide a quiet, professional meeting room where you can talk comfortably with potential employers.

Message Services

If you don't have a phone, or a reliable way of receiving messages, the staff at Job Junction will set up a confidential message mailbox for you in our phone system.

Services for Employers

  • A fully equipped seminar room for workshops, information sessions and mini job fairs
  • If you do not have an office in the area you can use our boardroom to screen potential employees
  • We can post employment and career related information on our website if you have a special event coming up.
  • We can also post your active job opportunities on our internal and online job boards; refer to our job posting process
